Update on Starlink Service in Namibia
This past weekend, the Namibian government, through the Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN), made a decision regarding Starlink’s application to operate in Namibia.
Despite 98.6% of respondents to a public consultation supporting Starlink’s entry, the application was not approved.
We know this is a disappointing outcome, especially for the thousands of you who placed deposits, participated in the public consultation, and made your voices heard.
Hope is not lost. CRAN’s regulatory process allows for continued public input over the next 90 days. If you disagree with the government’s decision, you can share your perspective and request reconsideration below. Be sure to sign your name before sending.
We respectfully disagree with CRAN’s decision. For a full explanation of Starlink’s efforts in Namibia, see here.
We believe Starlink would provide meaningful benefits for the people of Namibia and remain open to working with the government should the decision be revisited.
Thank you again for your support.
